Finding the Ormond jewel after years….

Great rejoicing! I’d lost the Ormond jewel (CHeck out my Facebook page to see it) during moving house nearly three years ago. I’d searched everywhere… and then after employing a young woman to help me organise my multiple copies of C365 from all over the world– hundreds of books — I opened a packing box of stored advertising material for the series and noticed written on the contents list on the side of the box the two words that made my heart skip a beat! ‘Ormond Jewel’ I dived to the bottom of the box and there it was, in its little blue velvet pouch! I was so happy.

I’m currently working on a new stand alone adult novel, introducing a completely new character, a senior woman police officer who is heading up a team dedicated to working against domestic violence. But there will be more books for YA readers coming next year. Stay tuned!

Just saw the wonderful lenticulated (smart talk for 3D) jacket for Book 3 of Black Ops — now they’re all in a row on my table — Missing, Hunted and Endgame. They look fantastic and readers are going to love them! I’ve agreed to write another completely different series for readers who want something more after they’ve finished the C365 series so these books will be a little ‘older’ and bigger, with two new and thrilling characters. I’ll let you know more when I do! Cal and the gang are off having a rest somewhere for a while. Meanwhile, I hope you’re finding plenty of good things to read, like The Phoenix Files and Anthony Horowvitz — anything he writes is brill….

I’m off to Bellingen next weekend to talk to schools’ groups and be part of a panel. I’m looking forward to getting out into the country for a day or two. Lots of good writers will be there so there’s something for everyone and books for all tastes.

People ask me via the comments link where can they buy the books that I write? My answer is really that I don’t know — because I don’t know where they live — I don’t know whether they can easily access online booksellers — most young readers don’t have credit cards so they need to go to bookshops to buy books. Or use their local libraries. So when it comes to the ‘where can I buy your books? questions, it’s probably better to ask parents and friends rather then me. They know where you live and what’s available. Good luck with hunting them down, guys!

Having a busy week trying to organise the storylining of the final book of The Black Ops Trilogy — ‘Combat’
It’s a thrilling story and there’s a lot to wrap up from Books 1 and 2 — this is when I often think I’m not going to be able to pull it off. But I recall all the other times I seem to have managed to do it, let it go for a while, then come back to it. The weather is glorious today and it seems illegal to be inside.

I hope all you C365 fans can beg borrow or steal someone’s cable-connected TV access and watch the final countdown of the series — two eps every night culminating in the grand finale of Ep 12 “December’

I get messages through the contact form on this website asking me things such as ‘When will “Revenge’ or “Malice’ be published in Holland, or Germany, or France etc and I can’t really answer them. It all depends on when and if the publishers who bought the original C365 series, also decide to buy the rights of the new ones. The same will be true of the trilogy I’m writing now, due for publication early next year — ‘Black Ops Trilogy’ My advice is that you contact the original C365 publishers in the country in which you live and ask them.

I’m baby-sitting (fish-sitting?) about ten Koi carp while their owner finds another place to live that has a pond. I’ve had to buy a filter because Koi are a bit on the messy side. But they’re getting along happily with my Magnificent Seven (the original seven comets that I bought about a year ago) and they make a colourful addition to the pond.
Pushkin the cat isn’t too sure about them. She sits watching them but I’m not sure if she recognises them as potential dinners. She’s used to her fish coming from a tin, not a pond. I’ll get a photo of this when I can.

Poor Pushkin just fell two storeys off the window sill upstairs. She landed, on all fours as cats do, in the rose garden, fortunately between two very thorny roses, and stood swishing her tail as if to say ‘what the hell just happened and how come I’m in the rose garden?’

The BLACK OPS TRILOGY

The Black Ops Trilogy is my project right now. I’m rewriting Book 2 ‘Hunted’ The first book is called “Missing”, and the third is “Combat’ I haven’t written that one yet, just have the notes and part of the plot sketched out. But it will be awesomely thrilling! Cal is headhunted by the Security people — the Secret Service — who have noticed how well he handled things during his year on the run — how he kept his head and also was able to act with honour and honesty in his dealings with people (apart from some subterfuge now and then in order to save his or other peoples’ life/ves. As life is the highest value, one is able to bend the rules a little when life is at stake. In Black Ops, Cal investigates an extremely evil plan devised by an extremely evil man who seeks power and domination over everyone else — on a huge scale. Cal, Boges, Winter and Ryan, together with some new friends will be doing everything to ensure that this doesn’t happen. But it’s not going to be easy and danger lurks at every turn. Hold on to your hats, folks!

The three books will be released — as far as I know — and publishers sometimes change publication dates if necessary — from February next year, releasing one every couple of months or so. I’ll post more definite info when I know for sure.

Black Ops Trilogy: Book 16 almost done!!!

I’m on the last few exciting scenes from Book 2 of the Black Ops trilogy and it’s so intense that even I get worried about whether Cal and the gang are going to make it out of an extremely dangerous situation. Things are getting pretty desperate on Shadow Island where Cal finds himself, tracking down his missing twin brother Ryan. But Ryan’s got himself mixed up with some very menacing characters….

Another exciting development is that the C365 TV series now has an international distributor, E-One, so all those folk who write to me, sad that they can’t see the series in the US, Canada, the UK and other countries, now have a chance to enjoy the wonderful series created by Circa Media and FMC — if their TV execs buy it.
